Application Administrator

Advantage Tech is looking for a Applications Administrator for our Lenexa, KS client.

A.
POSITION PURPOSE:

Works directly with Applications Administrators/DBAs, Network and System Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts and Project Managers to provide expertise and administration for various enterprise applications, including installation, upgrades/patches, configuration, availability, recoverability, scalability, and security of new and existing applications.

 

The ideal candidate will be energetic and possess high aptitude with a positive attitude. They must be self-motivated, eager to learn, enjoy working on cross functional teams to solve complex problems, have excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task and work on several projects at once.

 

B. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Requires an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or a related field.  Professional certification a plus.
  2. At least five years of technical experience working in Information Technology with progressive technical experience and responsibilities across multiple specialties
  3. Must have three years Application Administration knowledge and experience Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in meeting the requirements in Items 1 through 3.
  4. Must have experience with and knowledge of web services, security layers, cloud and on-premise application administration, disaster recovery, and HA.
  5. Must have a working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, VMWare, Clustering, DMZs.
  6. Working knowledge of ERP Administration
  7. Working knowledge of GIS Administration, ESRI geodatabases, and ArcGIS tools a plus
  8. Working knowledge of N-Tier Architecture
  9. Must have knowledge of cloud-based solutions, LAN concepts, database concepts – including SQL querying & reporting, and the installation and configuration of data access technologies for the server and client.
  10. Must have strong change management, documentation, problem solving, and technical skills.
  11. Must demonstrate the ability to move between high level architecture review/design to solution level implementation
  12. Must have good customer service skills.
  13. Must be well organized, creative, and detail oriented.
  14. Must be assertive, flexible, demonstrate initiative and sound judgment.
  15. Must interface well with departmental and user department personnel.
  16. Must have excellent decision making skills.
  17. Must have excellent business sense and communication skills.
  18. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all user materials.
  19. Must pass post offer medical exam, including drug screen and background verification (may not apply to current employees).

 

D. PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: (*Essential functions)

  1. Must be able to move or transport items weighing up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  2. Must be able to use a computer for up to several hours a day.*
  3. Must be able to move from one location to another occasionally.
  4. Must be able to use office productivity equipment such as a calculator, printer, and copy machine.*
  5. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to several hours a day.

 

E. JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: (*Essential functions)

  1. Coordinates the planning, design, implementation, patching and upgrading of enterprise systems.*
  2. Committed to implementing and maintaining best practices for applications in the WaterOne enterprise.*
  3. Creates, implements, and oversees application policies and procedures to ensure high security, availability, and recovery.*
  4. Takes ownership of escalated system and application issues to either resolve or coordinate technical resolution of enterprise applications.*
  5. Monitors applications and systems to identify and resolve issues impacting performance and security.*
  6. Analyzes existing applications and systems and recommends performance improvements, future enhancements, and alternative solutions.*
  7. Consistently works with vendors of COTS applications for implementation, problem resolution, and upgrades.*
  8. Responsible for timely and accurate reporting to users and management on the status of technical implementations and resolutions.*
  9. Assist with user logon creation and administration, recommendation and assignment of security roles and groups, and general administration of user accounts within the compliance of Information Technology standards.*
  10. Create, implement, and document automated process and jobs using existing tools and/or existing software.*
  11. Administration of SAP, GIS, and SCADA applications.*
  12. Provide recommendations for application software technology enhancements.*
  13. Provides technical resources for infrastructure, database, and application development teams.*
  14. Participates in on-call duties 24/7, and planned or un-planned weekend/evening work
