Construction Project Manager

Advantage tech is searching for a Construction Project Manager to work for their client based out of Kansas City, KS

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage a variety of initiatives and projects from inception to completion including capital construction and major operating & maintenance projects.
  2. Schedule and track project timelines, milestones, critical path, deliverables, and success criteria using appropriate tools throughout the project life cycle. Maintain project punch list.
  3. Lead and/or attend project meetings. Plan work schedules, determine manpower levels, material quantities, equipment requirements, contingencies, etc.
  4. Create and maintain project management documentation to include construction plans, project requirements, traceability and dependency matrix, and project specifications.
  5. Consult with cost analyst, engineering, procurement, and construction departments concerning potential cost savings.Maintain records of past and present projects to facilitate lessons learned.
  6. Work with Superintendents to monitor work performance and productivity of crafts to ensure project rules, procedures, safety requirements, etc. is maintained.
  7. Work with Senior Project Analysis to monitor employee/contractor productivity and efficiency to ensure work completed within established budgets and schedules.
  8. Work with Senior Project Analysis with establishing, communicating and managing project budget, submits budget proposals, and recommends budget changes
  9. Communicate daily with project stakeholders about project status, and issues that impact scope, schedule, quality, and cost.
  10. Monitor construction activities to maintain system reliability. Ensure construction installation matches drawings and specifications.

MINIMAL EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field plus five (5) years demonstrated electric utility construction and project management work experience.

  • Incumbent must possess working knowledge of the principles, practices, methods of project management
  • Must possess Professional Management Institute (PMI) certification is
  • Proficient in construction management and/or electric asset management systems

PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excel at meeting deadlines
  • Must possess strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, analytical, and possess customer service focus skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office and SharePoint
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills.
