Regional Sales Manager

Advantage Tech is searching for a qualified Regional Sales Manager to represent their client in Eastern Louisiana,


Generates sales of custom industrial protection solutions which include: rupture discs, vent, explosion protection, and Oil & Gas products in an assigned region.  Maintains and improves sales within region/territory by meeting and exceeding sales objectives.  Provides assistance and develops relationships with end users as prospective sales leads and/or future corporate direct sales/key accounts prospects.  Additional responsibilities include the introduction and promotion of new product lines and evaluating market potential for those product lines within the assigned region.

This position’s assigned region is: Eastern Louisiana.                                                                                           


  • Secures orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility.  Provides follow-up efforts on leads generated from advertising, trade shows, or other market means.  Follows-up on quotations by phoning or visiting the customer within the assigned region.
  • Establishes, develops and maintains professional customer relationships with decision makers in purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality or other key personnel at existing accounts.
  • Establishes new relationships with potential customers at competitor accounts.  Maintains knowledge of competitive products, supplier and distribution.
  • Promotes product offerings through sales presentations and distributions of product literature.
  • Writes proposals, issues quotations, and determines pricing and follows-up quotation by phone or visit.
  • Develops sales plan, monitors forecasts/actual sales, plans and schedules sales calls, conducts prospect analysis, and tracks customer orders and monitors delivery times.
  • Develops market analysis on a yearly and as needed basis. Compiles and provides Market Matrix and Pipeline Report.
  • Prepares expense, vehicle and trip reports, and documents customer activity in applicable system software.  Generates monthly regional activity report.
  • Represents the client at trade shows and exhibits to promote products. 
  • Prepares sales presentation to support products and distribution.
  • Acts as a liaison with the corporate office in investigating and responding to problems identified by customers and prospective customers.
  • Maintains an understanding of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual (FM), and local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) codes and requirements as they apply to explosion protection and life safety.
  • Develops project specification to aid consulting engineers.  Consults with engineering firms in an effort to promote usage of products in upcoming projects.
  • Works with sales support staff for quotations, telephone quotation follow-ups, purchase order issues, and in coordinating communications with factory technical, engineering and quality support personnel.
  • Strives to maintain active professional growth by participating in trade associations and attending appropriate seminars and classes.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed.          
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience in technical, sales, or marketing field. 
  • Five+ years experience selling  products in the fire suppression  industry and/or the fire alarm sales industry or related industry.  
  • Working knowledge of the company's and/or competitor products. 
  • Knowledge of sales principles and practices. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel. 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 
  • Must possess excellent communications skills and exchange information with others clearly and concisely, ability to present ideas, facts and some technical information. 
  • Ability to translate customer/end-user applications/problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  
  • Understanding of related safety products. 
  • Must be capable of working with a high degree of personal discipline. 
  • Ability to travel with potential up to 50%.


  • Advanced knowledge of related fire safety products.
  • Understanding of the NFPA standard and other related code requirements.
