Advantage Tech is searching for a Sr. Communications Engineer for their client out of Kansas City, Mo

The Senior Communications Engineer is a seasoned IT professional responsible for designing, implementing and troubleshooting communication systems. The Senior Communications Engineer is also responsible for conducting formal testing and transitions of new technology into production including ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation. 


     • Designs, installs, configures, and troubleshoots communications hardware, software, and appliances. 
     • Design, install, configure, and maintain systems that support communication technologies such as Microsoft Exchange, Skype for Business, faxing technologies, conference room technologies, and Genesys Contact Center. 
     • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability communications hardware, software, and appliances. 
     • Create and maintain detailed documentation on the communication systems used for architecture and support purposes. 
     • Provide emergency off-hours support as defined in rotation schedule with IT communications staff. 
     • Provides end user support, installation, training, and configuration for communication systems. 
     • Ensures change control and other processes and procedures are followed and that configuration documentation is completed when systems are deployed or modified. 
     • Assist in the identification of emerging technologies that may be appropriate for the client, provide technical knowledge, skills, and support to development team. 
     • Support the goals of the Information Technology department. 


     • Minimum of 5 years of advanced experience designing, configuring and supporting communications hardware, software, and appliances. 
     • Proficiency in Microsoft products with skills in the current Microsoft server operating systems. 
     • Demonstrated skills in managing Active Directory, Exchange 2013/2016, and Skype for Business. 
     • Demonstrated skills in managing Genesys contact center or modernized contact center solution. 
     • Demonstrated skills in managing SIP technologies, Sonus SBC’s, and network configurations as it relates to voice technologies. (QoS) 
     • Demonstrated skills in managing Polycom phone equipment. 
     • Proven written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, demonstrated willingness to work within a collaborative, team-oriented environment. 
     • Must have the ability to work, negotiate and present well with managers, directors, VPs and officers in the company. This also includes other coworkers within the organization. 


     • Bachelors or Associate degree in a technology related field with 5 years of hands-on experience in the field. 


     • Excellent communicator. 
     • Ability to investigate and resolve complex problems 
     • Enjoys working in a fast paced environment
