Advantage Tech has an employment opening in the installation department of one of their clients based out of Belton, Mo.
This technical position is suited for individuals with a strong electronics understanding and knowledge of commercial and residential construction.
The right individual will:
- Install and service Access Control (Card Access) Systems
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Commercial Intrusion Systems
- CCTV systems
At times, unique opportunities arise to install other low voltage systems and networks. The right individual can manage these different solutions. Installers wanting to specialize or limit themselves to only some or part of an installation or service will not be well suited. A team player attitude is needed.
Previous experience is preferred, but we will train individuals with a good work ethic, clean appearance, stable work history and demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and team player. Integrity is a must.
Knowledge of electronic circuits, PC’s and networking is essential to long term success. Someone that learns on their own, learns fast and has a “can do, will do” attitude is needed.
This position is generally 8:00 to 5:00, but on rare occasions will have other work hours or short travel in the Midwest. After becoming proficient, technicians rotate after hours and weekend service on call responsibilities that generally requires a phone consultation with the customer.
The client is a locally owned and operated organization and you would become part of small team that holds a great reputation in the security and fire alarm industry.
This position allows an individual to move from project to project where you will see new security technology and people. While most of the work is indoors, it is not unusual to work in a computer LAN room one day and then outdoors on a new construction site the next. The ability to work with people at all levels is vital along with a professional appearance and demeanor. Strong organization and communications skills are necessary. Ability to use Microsoft office products, operating systems and network fundamentals are key parts of the position.
Detail any previous electronics installation experience outside the security industry as there may be some overlapping.
- AutoCAD or other related experience
- Security, Fire, CCTV and Access systems by brand and model
- NICET level if any
- NBFAA or equal level training
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA
- Prior sales or customer service skills
