Automation Engineer
Advantage Tech is seeking an Automation Engineer to work onsite for a client of ours in Lincoln, NE.
Duties and Responsibilities:
An Automation Engineer manages and executes projects related to industrial machine automation for both new and existing equipment. Supports the site’s strategy by ensuring the production equipment is available to produce when needed & to deliver product per customer demand. This role leads complex projects with teams comprised of internal and external stake holders to deliver projects on time and at budget target.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES EXPERIENCE IN AN FDA-REGULATED ENVIRONMENT. BIOMEDICAL EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED.
The Essential Duties:
- Lead the design and installation of instrumentation and control systems in some of following areas: building automation systems, data systems, process control, DCS and utility PLCs which are harmonized with client standards.
- Develop and optimize operation and maintenance procedures for instrumentation and control systems.
- Manage change control process for automation/Process Control Equipment.
- Provide technical support for existing instrumentation and automation systems. Analyze repairs and maintenance requirements to proactively address system weaknesses.
- In cooperation with the Validation Engineers, develop validation documentation and implement validation plans, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Manage vendors and consultants to ensure that contracts contain appropriate technical specifications are delivered as required.
- Stay current on developments in the field of instrumentation and control technology and client Standards.
- Interface with users, peers, and management to ensure appropriate input and integration of local and corporate standards.
- Responsible for supporting on time compliance records of Automation Department.
- Provide technical support for utility systems including but not limited to purified water systems, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, and steam systems.
Here are the requirements for the skilled professionals we are looking for:
- BS in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
- One (1) to three (3) years of industrial controls related experience. Preference for at least three (3) years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry.
- Adhere to all Quality Compliance standards (Data Integrity, QA, and QC, etc.)
- Adhere to QMS policy and regulatory requirements.
Some other things that you will need to be successful:
- General GmP experience (writing/executing change controls, IOQs, Spec documents etc.).
- Most system in the plan use Logix PLCs (primarily RSLogix5000/Studio5000 with some legacy Logix500 systems).
- HMI software is FTviewME/SE with some RSView32.
- Other Rockwell systems it would be nice to have familiarity with are FTBatch, FTTM, FTHistorian, ThinManager.
