Data Engineer (Enterprise Data Warehouse)

Advantage Tech is searching for a Data Engineer focusing in Enterprise Data Warehouse, for their client based out of Kansas City, Mo.
 

Description:

We are hiring for a mid-level Data Engineer to join our client's Enterprise Data Warehouse team.  The data engineering team works on providing the infrastructure for analytics and business stakeholders to leverage data to make good decisions. They are responsible for data integrity and availability for crucial systems at the client site, and serve as a primary resource for data expertise. The data engineer is a hybrid of DevOps engineering, Software engineering, and Database engineering, focused on building advanced data warehousing and transformation systems.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Provision advanced data transformations through batch and streaming ETL systems to support a wide variety of data sources and models
  • Build and scale data warehouse systems that support the needs of a fast growing business while maintaining data governance and HITRUST compliant security
  • Support processes to allow automated deployment of schema changes in conjunction with DevOps deployment model.
  • Ensure operational database health and performance through test driven development, advanced monitoring, query optimizations, architecture improvements, create proper indexes and stored procedures
  • Develop an in-depth understanding the SVG business model and perform data integrity analysis on data processes to answer specific business questions 
  • Maintain a self-starter mindset in identifying, designing, and implementing internal data process and architecture improvements
  • Author high-performance ETL software that is modular, efficient, defensive, and performant.
  • Manage the required documentation process and data models for the company. 

 

Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of Data Engineering experience
  • Experience with the Python language; it’s design, base libraries, built-in features, and how it compares to other languages
  • Experience with Python data engineering libraries including Pandas and pyspark
  • Experience with SQL data warehouse tools such as AWS Athena, AWS S3 and AWS Redshift
  • Experience with Batch processing tools such as AWS Batch or AWS Glue
