IT Project Analyst

Job Title: IT Project Analyst

Responsibilities:  

Position will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and management of a project which will implement a new software application. To ensure the successful execution of this project the project analyst will be required to assist with:

 

  • Project schedule monitoring and maintenance
  • Deliverable reviews and responses
  • Contract and vendor oversight
  • Resource coordination
  • Report writing and reviews
  • Task management and oversight
  • Performance monitoring, analysis, and monitoring
  • Meeting scheduling, monitoring, and documentation; and,
  • Support and assist with business analysis duties as requested and directed by project manager and business analyst.

 

Skills required:

  • Facilitate and support project management efforts utilizing best practice project management methodologies
  • Demonstrates professionalism when dealing with challenging people and situations
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly learn new business and technical processes
  • Ability to create and maintain project work plans in MS Project (required) and Smartsheets (preferred)
  • Proven ability to follow general instructions and self-directed execution
  • Proven ability and desire to solve problems and contribute to implementable solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Create and deliver presentations using Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Support groups with consensus decision-making
  • Create accurate reports, analysis summaries, and other tools to facilitate effective project management
  • Support the building and ongoing maintenance of team cohesiveness among project team members, both contractors and staff

 

Knowledge and ability to utilize the current version of the following products:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Project, and SharePoint
  • Smartsheets (preferred, but not required)

 

Experience required:

  • Two years of actual IT project management experience: monitoring and reporting project status, preparing schedules, managing budgets, and assisting with the coordination/direction of project teams
  • A high level of proficiency with MS project
  • Preferred, but not required: Project management certification: Project Management Professional (PMP) or State of Kansas Project Management Certification.
