Sr Project Manager

Advantage Tech is looking for an Infrastructure Sr Project Manager for our Kansas City, MO client.  This is a hybrid position going into work 3 days a week starting 2022.  

The IT Infrastructure group is comprised of multiple technical support teams focusing on various IT infrastructure services in support of the entire IT environment for the organization.? These technical support services include Windows and Automation, Converged Technologies, Unix/Linux, Middleware, SOA, Mainframe Infrastructure, Network and Voice Services, Desktop, Audio Visual and Telephone, Information Security, Cloud Technologies, and Data Center Infrastructure. ?These technical teams work together to implement and support these critical infrastructure services to provide IT infrastructure necessary in support the organizations diverse?set of internal business applications and customer facing technologies, ensuring ongoing availability for day-to-day operations. 


As a Senior Project Manager within the IT Infrastructure group, you will lead multiple strategic enterprise projects interacting with cross-functional teams comprised of technical staff and business stakeholders to deliver the required products for each project, phase or stage of a project based on that particular project’s work plan.  You will help in building and deploying cloud-based products, working within the Cloud Acceleration Team (CAT), measure specific project velocities and reporting through the program, and helping the Agile teams break down their tasks into tactical and measurable milestones.  You will be also part of the senior-level planning sessions to help plan and lay out future work for the development teams.  If you have a strong business acumen and sound project management experience, the ability to communicate effectively with development teams and business leaders, a desire to be part of new product builds (specifically on AWS) in new areas of the enterprise, and have proven success in leading enterprise-level technical projects across the finish line, we want to talk with you!

How you’ll spend your time:  

  • Managing multiple projects within the determined constraints (i.e. scope, quality, time, cost, etc.) to successfully deliver the specified requirements while meeting the expectations of the sponsors, management team and stakeholders. 

  • Leading cross-functional project teams to ensure deliverables are adhered to time, budget and project milestones within the agreed tolerances including managing any tradeoffs between scope, schedule, quality and cost. 

  • Providing problem resolution as complex issues or challenges that may arise during the life span of the project. 

  • Serving as the liaison with project sponsors, customers, vendors or business partners including facilitating communication using various methods and managing expectations with stakeholders. 

  • Ensuring project methodology, standards, process and procedure are followed throughout the project. 


We’re excited to talk with you if:  

  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related discipline AND at least 8 years of IT project management experience.  At least 1 year of management experience preferred. 

  • You have experience managing multiple technical projects focused on cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS) and automation. 

  • You have a PMP certification.  Although this is not required, it is highly preferred. 

  • You have experience with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall project methodologies. 

  • You have proficiency utilizing a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool (i.e. Sciforma, MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
