Supply Planning Manager

Advantage Tech is searching for a qualified Supply Planning Manager for a contract opportunity running around 6 months, for their client based out of Kansas City, KS

Manage the Supply Planning for the Sales and Operations Planning process with a focus on inventory management, rough cut capacity setting, and optimizing the supply distribution network. Drive cross functional coordination for fast alignment with operating plans and daily execution. With a focus on process excellence and continuous improvement, develop and monitor key performance indicators, analyze cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinate cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of business initiatives. 


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop master production schedules on a weekly basis that achieve targeted inventory and service levels while working within the production constraints. Monitor alerts to identify potential inventory problems through all planning horizons and coordinate efforts to resolve. Collaborate with Factory Schedulers on the tactical execution of the production plans
  • Create and maintain production planning models which include materials, resources, and capacity constraints. Collaborate with Factory Schedulers and factory management to ensure alignment of planning parameters with factory level constraints
  • Organize and facilitate the weekly/monthly supply plan hand-off meetings; act as process owner of this meeting to ensure the process is an integral part of the planning and control process
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of inventory policy and inventory projections. Ensure that inventory levels are maintained at sufficient levels to meet agreed upon customer service level objectives while minimizing associated working capital costs
  • Identify and monitor all supply risk. Work with team to ensure that risk is identified, communicated, and mitigated
  • Manage key aspects related to planning activities, acting as the main interface between manufacturing, logistics, operations and operational finance within the S&OP process
  • Oversee inventory replenishment strategies to drive improved customer service levels while minimizing inventory investment
  • Issue weekly/monthly reports as required in support of the Sales and Operations planning process
  • Contribute to the creation of new SKU set ups including master data and planning parameters. Collaborate with the manufacturing source to ensure full understanding of manufacturing process to execute to project expectation at launch
  • Identify and integrate business system processes within ERP system; support planning tools as required
  • Coordinate reporting, analytical, and measurement tools to ensure business objectives are being met. This will include highlighting root causes and developing corrective action plan alternatives
  • Participate in annual development of budgets, item discontinuation process, new item launches, and other projects as required

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Statistics, Supply Chain, or Operations Management
  • 5-8 years of supply chain/planning experience (preferably in CPG industry)
  • Experience with SAP and Business Objects highly desired
  • Experience with planning tools highly desired (JDA, Logility, etc.)
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, including excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, v-lookups, etc.)
  • Certification and/or License – APICS certification preferred
