Systems Engineer

Advantage Tech is hiring!  We are looking for a qualified individual to join our client that is based in Overland Park.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for day-to-day management of the network, including cable plant, switches, servers, workstations, and network applications.  The Systems Engineer will also design, implement, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade security-conscious data network solutions involving TCP/IP, Windows servers, Active Directory, and Group Policy.  The Systems Engineer works closely with other members of the IT team to provide help desk and end user support to all staff and residents across the campus as needed.

Education, knowledge & Experience:
Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, or other technical certifications demonstrating technical aptitude
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Three years of experience troubleshooting and supporting PC desktop and server hardware, MS Office, and Windows Desktop and Server software in a business environment
• At least three years of experience designing, implementing and supporting Active Directory and Windows Server 2012R2 or higher solutions in a business setting.  Server 2016 or 2019 is a strong plus
• Three years of experience working with DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and business network hardware
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft group policy management
• Significant end-user support experience in a business environment
• Experience using imaging tools to deploy computers in a business environment

Preferred

• Associate’s Degree or higher in an IT-related field
• Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate and/or other Microsoft Windows networking training a plus.  MCSE Windows Server 2012 or later is strongly preferred
• Experience with managed switch configuration and firewall management
• Experience with Microsoft Windows imaging and deployment tools
• Experience in VMware virtual server creation and management
• Experience with Veeam Backup and Replication
• PowerShell scripting experience
• Microsoft Exchange administration experience
